What are the Causes of Elevated Cholesterol?
Worldwide research shows high cholesterol is often linked to infection in the arterial walls, nutritional deficiency, liver/gallbladder toxicity and colon toxicity.

Infection in the arterial walls causes failure of proper transport of cholesterol to the right places creating elevated levels in the blood.

Being that the liver creates, processes and directs cholesterol, the health of the liver and gallbladder are paramount. When we eat junk oils such as hydrogenated oils (such as margarine), and cooked meat fats, the liver cannot process it, which then clogs the gallbladder and sedates the liver. When the liver and Gallbladder are overloaded, congested or toxic (as in almost every modern American), it is impossible for them to deal with all of their tasks adequately. Therefore proper removal of excess cholesterol from the blood may not occur. A key component of stones and gravel congesting the gallbladder and bile ducts is cholesterol crystals. Bitter Orange for Better Health
Bitter orange has a complex chemical makeup. Of particular value is the oil that is extracted from the peel of bitter orange. This oil gives bitter orange a strong odor and flavor and is used as a remedy for a variety of health problems. The peel contains flavones, the alkaloids synephrine, octopamine, and N-methyltyramine, and carotenoids. The peel of the fruit is used to treat stomach aches and high blood pressure. Some cultures use bitter orange peel as an anti-spasmodic. In traditional oriental medicine, the bitter orange peal is used for indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, and dysenteric diarrhea. Bitter orange is still used throughout the world as a remedy for insomnia and indigestion.
